Nicole Sorce joined Higher Hockey in 2017 as a Client Acquisitions and Service Specialist and quickly added all aspects of public relations to her duties. She is available to assist Higher Hockey clients with media coaching and social media consulting as well. Since 2008, she has worked in all levels of hockey, starting as a high school varsity statistician and team manager at Ithaca College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. From 2010-2012, Sorce completed media and ticket sales internships for the ECHL’s Trenton Titans and AHL’s Binghamton Senators before being hired full-time by Binghamton shortly after her graduation in 2012.
In 2013, she worked as a reporter for various websites before returning to a team setting, spending the 2014-15 season as the Youth Hockey and Group Sales Manager for the AHL’s Portland Pirates. Sorce spent the first half of the 2015-16 season as a Sales Associate for the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes before returning to the AHL and ECHL as a credentialed member of the media. Her blog, www.nicolesorce.com, documents her travels throughout the leagues and offers insight into her career in sports business. She also recently earned her master’s degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University, where she was named Valedictorian of her program.
